Parllel Threads in vb.net RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have 4 function like  public sub FI(id),public sub F2(id),public sub F3(id),public sub F4(id).

All the four Functions retrieves the data from database and display their values in different grids.

I need to execute all the Four Functions parallel in a thread. so as  data will retrieve fast and it will helps the  to avoid the flickering my forms.

Please Suggest how can use the parllel class to do this in vb.net?

    Thanks

  • There are examples on the Parallel.Invoke page showing how to invoke the 4 methods.

However, you'll have to make sure the portion of the message which sets the user interface is marshalled back to the UI thread via Dispatcher.Invoke or Control.Invoke.

  • All data will go through 1 connection. So the only thing you do with your threads is making the process slower. Simply do it one by one without the thread, if the boats are going they are much faster.
