  • ok. our work email has migrated to office cloud and we now use Teams

I had to set up microsoft authenticator app for the 2-factor authentication.

I have now gotten a new phone (same phone number) but am unable to get the authenticator app to function correctly ie. display a code. it keeps wanting me to scan in a QR code, which I cannot get

the app still works fine on my old phone. I have even registered for back up on the old phone to try an transfer them over but on the new phone it says there is no backup to load.

    annoying AF

  • Regenerate QR code for my Microsoft Authenticator
    1. Go to Security & Privacy page > choose Additional security verification > Update my phone numbers used for account security.
    2. After that it will open a new window. ...
    3. Choose Set up Authenticator app and it will open a pop-up box with QR code so that you can configure the app on your new device.
