Simulator showing debug data in release mode

    Question

  • I am trying to create the screenshots for my Windows 8.1 app using the simulator. I have the simulator in Release mode, but it is still showing the numbers in the upper left & right of the simulator (whatever those numbers are) when I start it. I have tried closing the simulator and Visual Studio 2013, but this did not help. I have never had this problem before, is there a setting somewhere that I need to fix that somehow got messed up? Thanks.

  • Don't strat you app form visual studio. After you deploy app to emulator, start it form emulator directly.

    Or you can find code as below in app.xaml.cs, comment it  (or set Application.Current.Host.Settings.EnableFrameRateCounter = false ;)

      if (System.Diagnostics.Debugger.IsAttached)
                {
                    this.DebugSettings.EnableFrameRateCounter = true;
                }
