Biztalk 2009 - Convert 4010 to 5010 schema with built in tools in VS 2008? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to figure out how to convert my existing 4010 maps to the 5010 schema without having to purchase a tool to do this. I have read about hotfix items for this on MSDN but there are no directions on how to actually do the conversion successfully. Is there a site that can give me step by step directions to do this? This is specific to the 837P and 837I 4010 transactions. I do not want to have to re-map all my data again from scratch.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Hi Chrystap

Technically speaking it is possible to simple C# code to convert 4010 map to 5010 map. But it will only be able to convert 80% percentage of the map because there are new loops, segments, elements and some of the 4010 loops and segments are been deleted or moved to different place in the schema.

The client I work for I have been tasked to migrate 837 I,P 4010 map to 5010 here is what I did I wrote a simple C# code to convert map and then I have used the BizTalk 2010 map editor to cross-verify all the links comparing the 4010 map and then I have mapped the missing, new node manually by my self.

It was taking much time I was able to complete the one map in 2-3 day time.

  • I also read through Eric's BIZTALK conversion tool documentation and watched his video but could not locate the price of the tool or where to buy. I sent an email on his blog and the email was returned undeliverable. If you have any information on this as well, please let me know.
