U.S. West Region not available for Storage

    Question

  • In order to avoid unnecessary charges for doing db backups, I wanted to host my db and storage in the same region (U.S. West). However, when creating the storage, U.S. West is not shown in the list of available regions.  This doesn't seem to jive with the following list of services available in regions:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/regions/#services

Why would I not see U.S. West available?

    TIA

  • Azure Storage is available in West US. Please try creating the storage account again. And if it fails again, reach out to support to dig further.

  • Storage is available. May have been a short term issue. I would try again.

Are you using the preview portal or the production portal?

You could also try using PowerShell
