disabled sa login, aren't there times when you need this login? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Although we have a very strong password for 'sa' login, I was thinking about disabling it for added security. But then I was wondering, are there ever times when you do need this login for any kind of emergency operations?

We do have other windows IDs that are sysadmin.

  • It's OK to disable the sa login. In fact, SQL Server setup disables it if you install SQL Server using Windows Authentication only.
