Adding a Tab to Outlook 2010 using VB.net 2010 using Ribbon (Visual Designer) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

    I've looked for a thread on this but just could not find one.

    I am trying to add a ribbon that I have created using the Ribbon (Visual Designer) to Outlook 2010. I am using VB.Net 2010. I want the ribbon to be be an additional tab to the ones that already exist in Outlook 2010. I'd assume that the ribbon is added when the Addin starts, correct. Hence, the code I have is:

    Private Sub ThisAddIn_Startup() Handles Me.Startup
            Dim MyNewRibbon As New MyFirstRibbon ' this is the ribbon created using the Ribbon Visual designer

    End Sub

    Question: How do I add the MyNewRibbon object to the Outlook 2010 Tabs? Is there any sample code on this? Also, I've seen mentioned the GetCustomUI call/event and I just can't find any reference on how to create that in vb.net. Any code out there or posts that already exist?

    Thanx in advance....

    Thatch
