Problems connecting virtual machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created a virtual machine - it is stable and running. The problem occurs once I try to connect to it using the RDP link. No error message and no timeouts displayed - machine does not respond on connect request. The machine has been running for 2-3 weeks before issues appears.

Solution: A reboot of virtual machine solves the problem.

    Best Regards

  • Hi,

This is an issue I have encountered also. It seems that the RDP service is unjoinable (although the other services on the VM seem to run correctly). The issue is under investigation by the Azure team. Until then, only a reboot helps you regain it.

    Hope it helps,

  • Hi,

When a virtual machine is created ,a remote desktop endpoint is created for the virtual machine by default. And then check your endpoint list and you shall see an endpoint named RemoteDesktop. Write down the public port. The format of RDP to the virtual machine is [VMName].cloudapp.net:[PublicPort Number] . If it does not work, maybe you can reboot the virtual machine or delete the virtual machine and create a new one .
