Changing Target namespace on autogenerated schemas RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have generated schema to use ExecuteScalar functionality in WCF SQL adapter. Then I am getting this error. I don't see "http://schemas.microsoft.com/Sql/2008/05/GenericTableOp/" anywhere in the schema. I am wondering hos is it still refering to the generic namespace. Are we not supposed to change the target name space for the WCF SQL adapter schemas?

System.Xml.XmlException: Start element 'ExecuteScalar' from namespace
    'http://schemas.microsoft.com/Sql/2008/05/GenericTableOp/' expected.
    Found element 'ns1:ExecuteScalar' from namespace
    'http://schemas.WebExample.com/Sql/DebatchingSample/GenericTableOp/'.

  • Hi,

I would change the namespace of the schema generated by Wizard and try to run the solution to see what error comes. There is a very similar thread here might help you. Please refer.

As per the resolution in the above thread, it seems you would need to change the schema manually after wizard generates it.

    I hope it helps!

  • So we should not change the target name space for WCF SQL adapter schemas.

  • Yes thats Correct .

Dont mess with autogenerated schemas as Adapter use them to resolve schema and stored procedure name
