Data factory project option in VS2017 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Team,

Currently there are extensions/updates in VS2015 for creation of Azure data factory project:

But we aren't able to find any updates/extensions for creation of ADF projects in VS 2017. SO are we missing out anything or there is currently no feature available in vs 2017

  • Hi Nandan,

Note: Microsoft Azure Data Factory Tools is available for Visual Studio 2015.

Doesn’t work with Visual Studio 2017.

For more details, refer “Microsoft ADF Tools for Visual Studio 2015”.

I would suggest you to vote up an idea submitted by another Azure customer.

  • Hello Pradeep,

    Thank you for your response.:)

But we have a scenario wherein Microsoft has provided a SSDT (Dacpac approach) for Azure data warehouse in VS 2017 and doesn't work in VS 2015.

Hence we need to migrate our ADF pipelines in VS 2017 solution.

So as per our response above do I need to maintain 2 different solutions:

2015 for ADF and 2017 for Azure data warehouse.

And any reason why Microsoft removed the feature in VS 2017 that was present in VS 2015 ?
