Kinect interaction library hand cusor jumping RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using Kinect 1.8 SDK with the kinect interaction library, when using the button.
    Action performed: press button and then move out of the button at that state of hand.
    Result: hand cursor moved toward the left top of the screen.
    Video link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGJwrNU0Iew)
    You can look hand cursor moving at 7-8 second and at 12 second.
    Is there any way to fix it?

    You may have some problems with stabilizing the mouse. Do you have any of the following code snippets below or parameters set in code?

    Dim parameters As New TransformSmoothParameters()
    			parameters.Smoothing = 0.7F
    			parameters.Correction = 0.3F
    			parameters.Prediction = 0.4F
    			parameters.JitterRadius = 1.0F
    			parameters.MaxDeviationRadius = 0.5F

    In Kinect Mouse, these parameters fixed some of the mouse moving erratically. If you are using Xbox Kinect you will have some mouse sensitivity and precision problems. However, if you have the KFW(Kinect For Windows) V1 sensor you should be fine and have better precision because the hardware capabilities are a little different for both.

  • I have used this TransformSmoothParameters in my code, but no big improvement in stabilizing the hand cursor. and yes i am using the Xbox Kinect.
