Finding the real process name from Windbg Processid guid number RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I've used windbg and I've found a processid which looks like hexadecimal guid number. Can anyone advise how say which process/thread this might belong to - is there a command I can use to convert this to a normal PID number or process name.

    The area of memory looks like this :-

    0007fdb8  01d189f6 6f72502f 73736563 7b006469  ..../Processid.{
    0007fdc8  41433643 44353241 3937372d 45342d38  C6CAA25D-7798-4E
    0007fdd8  412d3043 2d343237 44384330 39383646  C0-A724-0C8DF689
    0007fde8  31303144 0007007d 00000023 00000000  D101}

    In other words, the Processid is {C6CAA25D-7798-4EC0-A724-0C8DF689D101}

    I suspect it might be dllhost.exe which I know is crashing at the time - I'd just like to be sure in case a another process/dll is involved.

    Kind Regards

    Matthew

  • Hi

    Its ok. This ID is the Application ID of one of my organisation's COM+ Applications so I've found what the ID is now.

    Cheers
