All client APIs, including those used by ADO.NET, communicate with SQL Server using the Tabular Data Stream (TDS) protocol.  This internal protocol is now documented.  See https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd304523.aspx

  • Hello Mou_kolkata,

If you are looking for how the ADO.NET api creates a connection between windows app and database, I suggest that you could check the ADO.NET source code, since you are working with SQL Server database, you could check the SqlConnection class:

    http://referencesource.microsoft.com/#System.Data/System/Data/SqlClient/SqlConnection.cs,0b3b98f4b01ec122

If you are looking for a more deep level implementation as how the app creates a physical connection to the database, however, this is beyond the scope of our support for this forum, you might get help on the SQL Server forum.

    Regards.
