Where is the ReportViewer control in VS 2010 Express? RRS feed

  • I am looing for ReportViewer control from the Reporting group of the Toolbox.

    I am not finding the Reporting Group in Vsiaulo Studio 2010 Express.
    Am I blind or do I need to get the professional version?

  • These are not added to the toolbox by default in the Express Edition.

    Right-click in the toolbox and click Choose Items... Pick ReportViewer from the list that appears.  (Note that there are Windows Forms and ASP.NET versions of this control.)

    If they do not appear in this list, download and install the controls: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BB196D5D-76C2-4A0E-9458-267D22B6AAC6&displaylang=en

    Copy the title of the page.  Paste it in the search box on the page.  Replace VS2008 SP1 with VS2010.  Click on the "Go" button.

  • THere is not a 2010 version ReportViewer addon for Visual Studio Express 2010. But we still can use the 2008 ReportViewer in Visual Studio 2010 Express.
