Is Bing Maps REST URL structure going to be shut down? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a non .Net application that performs geocoding using the Bing Maps REST url "http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Locations"

With the upcoming deprecation of the SOAP web services will this URL be going away or is this still the correct way to geocode?

I've been reading through migration guides on the new V8 Bing Map API's and I'm suspecting that this url will still work but I haven't found anything that answers this question directly enough.

    Thanks in advance!

  • All there of these are completely different. The soap services are really old. The rest services are the primary web service for bing maps. The v8 control is a interactive web control. The rest service will not be touched with the deprecation of the soap services.
