Default date in MDS Entity RRS feed

  • Hi ,

Is there any way to set a default date for a member in MDS. My requirement is that business user can enter either current date or future date but not past date.

    Any help is appreciated

    Thank you,

  • You can use Business Rules to Add a constraint and default value to that attribute.

  • Hi Emma,

Can you be more specific with the solution? I'm using MDS 2012, and want to assign a default value (sysdate) to a date attribute.

I was thinking to use the Actions -> Default value -> defaults to , but when I'm on the ATTRIBUTE VALUE text field I don't know how to indicate "USE THE SYSTEM DATE".

    Thanks in advance!

  • You can take a look of this post: http://johanmachielse.blogspot.com/2011/07/master-data-services-implementing.html.

For SQL16, in the next month CTP release, it will have a feature to allow sql function/stored procedures defined inside business rules to enable the scenarios you are looking for.
