  • Hi

I just loaded Expression Studio 2. When I use Visual Studio 2008 the xaml is all black and there is no intellisense. Is this the way it should be?

While I was waiting for my software I downloaded Blend 2 trial and C# Express Edition. The C# Express Edition has intellisense and the xaml code is in full colour like in Blend plus a split window that shows the form. My 2005 Visual Studio also shows the code in colour with intellisense.

Why is the new version of Visual Studio lacking this feature when the free version has it?

  • Close VS and other programs. Use the VS Command Prompt (All Programs>Visual Studio>Tools>Command Prompt) to run devenv /setup and devenv /resetskippkgs, repectively. You can also run these using Start>Run.

If this doesn't work, you might want to post your issue at the Visual Studio Setup and Installation Forum .

  • Warrick,

I'm glad this worked for you! Thanks for the feedback.

Here is the link at MSDN for reference to the Visual Studio Devenv Command Line Switches: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xee0c8y7.aspx just in case you need it, down the road.
