How to create a Setup file for a VB.net project?

    Question

  • I created a VB.net application with ACCESS 2003 database. I tried creating setup file using CLICKONCE ,but failed. I am just getting wrong database path even though I have set my path as APPLICATION.STARTUPPATH. Then I kept my Database in my desktop and set the path to desktop and made CLICKONCE setup. It was successfully running, but same setup when I installed in other system by placing the database in desktop, then again I am getting error.

Please guide me how to do it

  • A database file such as Access does not belong in the application folder, under Program Files, where you can experience permissions issues or UAC Virtualization (which can be somewhat confusing). You should install it to a subfolder for the app under Documents, where a user would have sufficient permissions to update the database.
