  • For VS 2013, you'll want to add it to the "<ProjectName>.Server\Properties\Service.lsml" model file.

  • Hi Justin

    Thanks for that but it doesn't work. if I try and add in anything to the xml it immediately tell me that changes have been made and it wants to reload the project and it will not take no for and answer

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ServiceApplication
      Name="LightSwitchServiceApplication"
      Version="1.0.0.0" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/LightSwitch/2010/xaml/model">
      <ServiceApplication.Attributes>
        <ModuleNamespace
          Namespace="LightSwitchApplication" />
        <Partial
          IsPrimary="True" />
      </ServiceApplication.Attributes>
        <EntityContainerGroup
        Name="DataWorkspace">
        <EntityContainerGroupProperty
          Name="SecurityData"
          EntityContainer="Microsoft.LightSwitch.Security:SecurityData">
          <EntityContainerGroupProperty.Attributes>
            <Generated />
            <DisplayName
              Value="Security Data" />
            <Description
              Value="Service that provides access to security-related data." />
          </EntityContainerGroupProperty.Attributes>
        </EntityContainerGroupProperty>
        <EntityContainerGroupProperty
          Name="Business_ITData"
          EntityContainer="Business_ITData" />
      </EntityContainerGroup>
      <GlobalAttributeGroup
        Name="LightSwitchServiceApplicationGroup">
        <GlobalAttributeGroup.Attributes>
          <AutomaticDisplayName
            Expression="(\p{Ll})(\p{Lu})|_+"
            Replacement="$1 $2" />
        </GlobalAttributeGroup.Attributes>
      </GlobalAttributeGroup>
    </ServiceApplication>

    this is a copy of the existing XML file and what I would like to do is add a date value for 2 months ahead any ideas where in this file I would put the code even what the code would be as I tried to paste in what the other chap had said and nothing showed up on the global list.

    I know I am being somewhat thick and should really just code the query but this facility of adding Global Values could be handy in the future.
