Can't start Visual Studio efter install of Asp.net 5 RRS feed

    Hello

After installing ASP.Net 5 RC1 Update 1 I cannot start Visual Studio 2015. I get no error message, the application just isn't launching.

The only way to get Visual Studio working again is to reinstall it.

    I am on Windows 7 64 bit.

I have followed these instructions: https://docs.asp.net/en/latest/getting-started/installing-on-windows.html#install-asp-net-5-with-visual-studio

I have Visual Studio 2015 with Microsoft Web Developer Tools installed.

    I did run "dnvm upgrade"

I have installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4

I think I will upgrade to Windows 10 though... but I thought I might pass this on.

    Regards
    Fredrik

    Hello,

If problems persist, you might try the following options :

    •Restart your local machine

•Attempt to reset Visual Studio to System Defaults (This can be done from the options within Visual Studio)

•Attempt to Repair your Visual Studio Installation

    •Reinstall Visual Studio

In addition, you can also have a try reset Visual Studio user setting.

    Reset Visual Studio user settings

If you need to restore default settings for your Visual Studio IDE, you can do the following

Open Visual Studio Command Prompt and enter the following command.

    >devenv /ResetSettings

    Regards,

    Angie

Considering this is a release candidate, I would get onto their web page and post a comment so they are aware this is happening; it could be a bug that others are encountering. As a developer, I am sure you know we cannot fix what we do not know about :) Cheers!
