Add sourcesafe items using appwizard RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Is there a way to get a custom appwizard to add existing common source files from a sourcesafe database to the newly created project? I am using VS2008 and VSS2005.

  • That is how to do it manually. I want to automate it so that the javascript component of my appwizard can do it automatically. For example if I tick a box in my UI to say that I want a certain facility, that would get default.js to add the necessary files from the source control database. This is similar to how the standard files do it, except that they only do it from templates or local files. I want to do it from the source control database. There are methods in the SourceControl component that allow you to automate checkout and checkin, but I can not see how to add. Similarly the ProgramItems component allows you to add a local file, but not from the source control database. VSS has an automated function to add files, but it seems to be intended for VS to interact with it and not for AppWizard to do so. For example it required a context parameter.

  • Hi Frank,

It seems a thread related to VSS. You can get some help below:

    http://support.microsoft.com/ph/3036

If you have some issues about VSS you can submit it to:

I am changing this thread as a discussion. Maybe some community members can solve this issue.

    Best regards,
