Windows 10 Bug with A10: Attempt to open VBE in Access instead tries to install VS 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • ... When the install is canceled, VBE opens as desired.

    VS2013 is already installed, BTW.

  • This happened to me too, but it was one-time only. If that's the case for you too, you can safely ignore it.

  • Tom - How long did you let it run, or did you kill it immediately?

  • I let it run its course, maybe 5 min.

  • OK, tried that ... seems to have worked.

On a "feel" basis, (no numbers available), A10 seems to run faster on W10 ...

  • I ran into this after uninstalling VS2012 (still have 2010 and 2013 installed) and tracked it down to MZ-Tools.

If you have MZ-Tools installed, see the last item on the page http://www.mztools.com/v3/faq.aspx

  • Thanks Alphonse. This issue seems to go back to the year 2009, when there was a discussion on  the blog referenced from MZTools.
