UDDI Tmodel import RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are migrating Biztalk application from 2009 to 2013 R2. UDDI was used for storing service provider. We have custom Tmodels in the old system. Using the UDDI export/import we were able to import the Tmodels. However for the custom Tmodels the tm_value_set table values were not copied over. Manually inserting this records from previous version broke UDDI search functionality. Is there anything extra that needs to be done during the import for the custom Tmodels.

  • Migrating BizTalk application to another version does not require to migrate UDDI itself. The UDDI3 resolver can be used with any registry that implements this standard. While it is not often used, you can keep it for a while migrating to alternative discovery method.

  • Unfortunately, UDDI has been removed from BizTalk Server and even more unfortunate, seems your shop is one of only 2 places that actually used it.

At this point, you best option is to factor UDDI out of you environment completely as it serves no real runtime purpose (at least it shouldn't have).

If this is for configuration data, SSO is your primary option.

  • Thanks for the answer. We just moved the UDDI data over to the new instance and it worked fine :). Looks like that is the easiest way out rather than use the dataexport/import utilities.
