Problem while deploying Project using Reportviewer.winforms RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I have a project which was developed earlier in VB 2008 using Reportviewer.Winforms version 9.00. Have now upgraded the Project to Visual Stuidio 2015. Have reports here using Reportviewer.Winforms version 12.00. Working fine when set reference to new version of Reportviewer in Projects. However having problem when deploying on a remote machine.

Problem while running any form having Reportviewer. Get error message "Could Not Load File or Assembly Reportviewer.Winforms version 12.00"

I am copying the entire bin>>Debug>> folder.

    'Bin' folder has both Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common.dll & Microsoft.ReportViewer.WinForms.dll.

Worked fine earlier in VS 2008 with Reportviewer.Winforms version 9.00

I guess problem can be that remote machines only have version 9 registered. however tried downloading from Microsoft site & even installing .Net 4.6 but to no avail.

    Anxiously waiting for an answer.

Found the solution. Works on installing the below dll

    1.  SQLSysClrTypes.msi

    2.  ReportViewer.msi

  •  Hi Compvishal,

Your case more related to Winfrom ReportViewer, I am afraid you post in an inappropriate forum. For a better support. Please consider posting in Other Forums  > Visual Studio Report Controls forum for better support. Thanks for your understanding.

BTW, I've found a similar issue like yours. Please also check if it works in your scenario.

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common, Version=11.0.0.0

Since you used VS2015, please install the Microsoft Report Viewer 2015 Runtime and change your references so they point to the ones installed by the runtime.

    Here is the download link:

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

  • Dear Kristin,

    Hi! Thanks for the reply.

facing problem while installing Reportviewer 2015 on a machine which does not have VS2015/SQL Server. Get below error.
Setup is missing an installation prerequisite:

-microsoft system clr types for sql server 2014

While searching for the same came across download link on microsoft site. Here trying to download gives numerous options. Error even on trying these

    Regards,
