Questions on submitting a Win10 app to the Store RRS feed

  • Question

  • To all,

Am I missing something? I've developed a Windows 10 app using App Studio and I'm ready to publish to the store. I was hoping to get it in there on Win 10 launch day. When I generate the app, I get the Installable Package and the Source Code package, but not the Publish package, even though the generation page says I should have all three.

I've gone into my Developer dashboard and created the app already but I feel like I'm missing a step. Do I need to build the app in Visual Studio to get the requisite package files?

The current App Studio instructions are all targeted to Win 8.1, with no guidance for Win 10 apps.

    Thanks for any guidance!

  • I too am having this issue.  I  get the same packages, Installable and Source Code package...I am unclear as to what file I upload in Visual Studio, or is this the completed package to submit to the Dev Center.

  • These links explain how to migrate 8.1 apps, yet the apps now at APP Studio are Win 10 apps, supposedly the correct format but when I load my SLN it has the "update" it shouldn't if it is a Win 10 App so it is a bit confusing.

This explains how to update your sln

This is how to migrate apps

  • I did a clean VS install and everything worked. Oddly enough, the certification process took days. The app is now available here, if you want to play with it. I have a number of things being run elsewhere to make this app possible. https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9NBLGGH1R55S

  • Hi,

The W10 feature is in preview and that we don’t support the creation of the publish package. Here is the blog for more information:http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windows_app_studio_news/p/windows10-known-issues.aspx page.
