Reading Custom Fields / Lookup Table names and values from PSI using Team Member level permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Project Server 2010.

I have a situation where I want to be able to read custom fields and lookup table names and values from the PSI without having all the permissions required to make any of the calls in CustomFields and LookupTable services.  Normally, I would use impersonation, but that isn't an option here.  Does anyone know of a service call that will return the custom fields and lookup table names and values using Team Member level permissions?

  • i would get this information from the rdb. actually most of the information in read only mode is more convinient to get from the rdb. if you cannot access the sql server directly from the code  (for example from silverlight) one of the optipns is to use ssrs as the intermediate tier (again i used silverlight with ssrs url access to build a solution - it works)
