Exporting from SQL 2008 and converting formats RRS feed

  • Question

  • I work on a project that allows UK academics to access Census data with its respective boundary data.

At the moment we are using a Coldfusion based interface to create views of the data in SQL Server 2008 and then use FME Desktop in commandline mode to download the view and convert it to the format the user requires such as SHP, GML, TAB.

This all works very well and is very quick, however, we are having some problems with FME on a contractual basic such that I am looking for alternatives.

Does anyone do this kind of work and if so what software/solutions do you use?

    Thanks in advance...

Answers

  • We are developing a multi source/target export tool using Sharpmap data providers.

It's integrated with Proj.NET, so you can also project your data in the process
