Test Manager_Blank screen after resuming paused test case

Question

Test Manager_Blank screen after resuming paused test case.

When run a test case and if  we pause the test case and come out. If we try to resume the same paused test case  after some time. The test steps,screenshots all disappears and a complete blank screen shows with only one field “End Test”.

We observed the same issue in version

Test Manger 2013

Test Manger 2015

I can't reproduce your issue in my side, I have both tested it in my MTM 2013 and MTM 2015.

Could you please tell me how long did you leave the test case?

Please try to create a new test case, run the case and add some screenshots, pause the test case, save and close, resume the test case immediately. How about the result?

If still no help, please try to clean the cache of your TFS, delete the contents under this folder :

C:\Users\your account\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation\6.0

Hi,

I would like to add some more information as I have the same problem.

• As far as I observed now this does not happen if you create a new test case,
  it only happens if you use an older test case.
• I my scenario the test case was created on TFS 2010 and migrated to TFS 2013 then TFS 2015.
• With an affected test case this can be reproduced with MTM 2013 and MTM 2015
• The same test case can be resumed in TFS web access!
• Deleting the local cache does not help.

Seems like it is a bug in MTM and has something to do with attributes of the test case work item or the related test point entries in the database, though I could not verify this yet.

Any ideas how to check this?
Moving to a new team project (as mentioned in another thread about the same problem) is definitely not an option.

was able to reproduce:

Procedure:

1.       Created a new test case .Run the test case and Add screenshots . Pause the test case and click on the save and close button .
2.       Now we run another test case add some screenshot Pause that tetscase , save and close it.
3.       Navigate to some other test case . The time spent is likle 3 to 4 minutes , when I come again to the first test case and click on resume  button , the test runner shows blank space.
4.       All the screenshot , test step information disappears.

Could you please guide me on this.

I follow the steps you shared, and I have reproduce part of your issue. In my side, only the screenshots were disappeared.

Anyway, this should be an issue in MTM I think, for this , I have submit a feedback to Microsoft Connect:
