Why can my two domain controllers mount each others c$ without any trust relationship? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created two domains, two forests, one KING and one QUEEN both Win 2008 R2. KING is the root OS and QUEEN is on a VPC on KING. Before I establish any trust relationship between the two of them I am able to log on to each as the respective administrator of each domain and mount c$ in the other domain controller. I didn't make c$ public so I wouldn't expect to be able to do this... Why would I be able to do this and how can I go about debugging this type of auth scenarios?

    Thanks,

    Chris
