Invalidate backstage controls RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a RibbonXML script that adds some editboxes to the backstage view.

When the user enters text in one of the editboxes the OnChange event creates (if necessary) and writes that text to a customdocument property.

If that customdocument property already exists and has a value then when the backstage view is first display the property value is put in the edit box using the getText callback.

All works fine.  Here is the problem.  If the user deletes the custom document property and then displays the backstage view again, the old property value is still displayed.

Is there some way to ensure that the backstage is invalidated and redisplayed each time the "File" tab is pressed or the group label on the File tab?

    Any other way?  Thanks.

  • Greg,

Not done much with the Backstage view myself but the onShow callback should allow you to invalidate just prior to it being displayed.

I modified the example there to get live time display as button text.
