User name not update in CodeLens reference information.

    Question

  • Recently, a user changed their name and email in TFS.  If I look at the users information in TFS, the new name is displayed. It is visible in work item history and changeset information.  However, looking at the CodeLens reference information in Visual Studio, their old name is displayed. How do I get the new name to be displayed in the CodeLens reference information?

    We kicked off TFSConfig CodeIndex /reindexAll on the collection. It is still running, but has processed back to July.  The old name is still displayed for changes that have been re-indexed.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Hi JonFuenning,

    Please disable the Enable CodeLens and enable it again in VS.

    Tools->Options->Text Editor->All Languages->CodeLens:

    Sincerely,

    Oscar

  • Hi Oscar,

    That did not fix the problem.    The old name still appears in the reference line and in the popup information.

    We are running a TFSConfig CodeIndex /reindexAll on the collection, but that has not fixed the problem either.   It is still running, so maybe it needs to complete before user information is updated.

    P.S. We are running TFS 2015 Update 3.

    Thanks,

    Jon

  • Hi Jon,

    Please remove the old credentials of TFS in Control Panel->All Control Panel Items->Credential Manager, please refer to the following blog:
