How to download an earlier version of visual studio for mac without it getting stuck RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I'm trying to install visual studio for Mac for a class that I'm taking that requires it, but I'm running into some issues.

First, my Mac is no longer supported by apple, so it no longer receives updates, and visual studio requires version 11 or later, so I can't download any of the 2019 versions.

Second, I tried downloading the 2017 version (my Mac is supposed to be compatible with this) and it keeps getting stuck on the "finishing installation" part of the download. I read that they fixed this in a later update, but my computer isn't compatible with that. Is there a way around that issue? Besides getting a later version?

  • Never mind! I just figured out that Apple changed their whole system and that I was just being stupid and looking in the wrong place. Sorry about that!
