Securing Windows IOT RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, my workplace uses Windows IOT on a raspberry pi to dispense nitrogen. Its connected to the internet so we can receive emails if the system has a bug. Its been hacked twice now with, changing the display, adding GIFs etc.

Any tips on hardening the system? We've tried using a firewall with port-forwarding but Windows IOT doesn't work well with port-forwarding

Also if this is the wrong form to ask this in i apologize and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction, thanks! Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

  • Hello Tupino,

If you use the device as product instead of development, it is suggested to disable developing tools like Windows Device Portal, ftp server, SSH, or PowerShell. Use retail image for better security.

Please reference "Building Secure Devices with Windows 10 IoT Core" for more security features.

    Best regards,

    Rita
