Cannot manage directory using Powershell and external user

    Question

  • We have several Azure subscriptions set up, and then use B2B to bring our organizational accounts into the directory, upgrade them to members and grant global admin rights on the directory.

We do this in order to be able to use our organizational accounts to manage across our multiple subs. This works great in the portal, but we can't seem to make it work in Powershell. Using the Get-MSolDomain cmdlet and providing the TenantID parameter returns "get-msoldomain : Access Denied. You do not have permissions to call this cmdlet."

Is it possible to use Powershell in this configuration to manage a directory which is not the user's default directory? If not, does anybody have a suggestion for how we could accomplish this in code, so that we don't have to continually use the GUI?

    Thanks!
