Concerning Software Repositories RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've learned that there are open source software repositories for robotics. These repositories prevent roboticists from reinventing the wheel by supplying code for tasks/problems that have already been solved.

Being an enthusiastic patron of MRDS, I realize much of the open source code in in languages (such as C++, Python, etc.) can be ported to work in MRDS, but it would be nice for MRDS to establish a software repository of its own as robotics continues to forge ahead.

Does an MRDS software repository exist? If so, please supply the link.

  • There is no repository (at least one managed by Microsoft) as yet. There is a lot of code out on the net for RDS, and it has been one of my desires for a long time to bring it all together either in a repository or at least a web page that lists the links.

So the short answer to your question is "no". The slightly longer answer is that I am working on it :-)
