Project server 2010 - RBS data sync from SQL Server table RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have the RBS informations stored in a SQL Server(2008) table. How do we bring this RBS data from SQL Server to Project Server 2010?

  • Hello Sanjeev,

There are many ways to to update the RBS values in RBS lookup table:
    1. Manually update from PWA> Servers ettings> Enterprise custom fields & lookup table> Update the RBS (would suggest if you have limited values)
    2. By using the custom piece of code , Write a code (console app/win form) which gets the data from XML file that you can export from your SQL server table. Use the Lookup table web service & use the updatelookuptable method (I have used this method in past to create/update lookup tables using the XML input)

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg210615.aspx
Creates, modifies, or deletes data in custom field lookup tables. UpdateLookupTables creates lookup tables and corresponding code masks if the LookupTableDataSet includes new lookup tables, modifies existing lookup tables, and deletes lookup tables that are not in the LookupTableDataSet.

    3. As far as I remember that project 2010 SDK contains sample code/utility & run the ProjTool which has Create/update lookup (Not very sure , please check if you have SDK downloaded).
