Can Metro-apps call "Push Button Reset" function through API?

    Question

  • Hi all,

If I would like to have a Metro app which can launch "Push Button Reset" function, can I launch this function through Windows API?

I might need to implement this function within my developing Metro-app...

    Thanks in advance.

  • Metro style apps cannot generally make changes to the system. "Push Button Reset" is about as large a change to the system as you can get.

  • Thanks for your response.

So, if I would like to implement this function in traditional Win32 app, is it possible?

    Thanks again!

  • BTW, if it is possible to do that within traditional Win32 app (or any other type app), would you mind to give me any hint or reference address for this information? (ex. msdn address)

    Thanks.

  • you can do by calling the systemreset.exe in your metro app

to refresh pc = systemreset.exe -moset

to Reset PC = systemreset.exe -factoryreset -moset
