Error retrieving folder content: Ticks must be between DateTime.MinValue.Ticks and DateTime.MaxValue.Ticks.

    Question

  • When I try to register an assembly to ADL from VS 2013 or if I try to access the ADL Explorer from the Server Explorer in VS, then I get the following error:

    ---------------------------

    Error retrieving folder content
    ---------------------------
Ticks must be between DateTime.MinValue.Ticks and DateTime.MaxValue.Ticks.

    Parameter name: ticks
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

It worked fine on Friday and the only change that I'm aware of is the planned maintenance that MS performed over the weekend.

Any one know what's going on and how we can quickly resolve this?

  • This is a problem with some files and folders that gotten a malformed creation date/time (in the folder browser it shows as an empty date). The new release over the weekend is now detecting them and failing.

We are currently investigating the root cause for the malformed values and are working on fixing the value on affected files and accounts. If you'd like, you can send me your account name in email and I will forward it to the store team.
