System.Windows.Media.Effects for Metro apps, custom pixel shaders and stereopsis?

    Question

  • Hi,

I'm looking to implement System.Windows.Media.Effects classes in a Metro app, but can't find any information about this functionality. I was expecting to find a Windows.UI.Xaml.Media.Effects namespace in the documentation but it doesn't seem to exist.

What I was originally looking into was applying custom pixel shaders to XAML controls. I was looking into the possibility of setting stereoscopic features on custom controls (ie allowing certain controls to pop-out of the screen when using a stereoscopic display). I was going to see if it would be possible to achieve this using a custom pixel shader, though there may be a better route.

Does anyone know if this possible in the Metro framework? Is there an alternate strategy?

  • Thanks for that reply. What a shame. I wonder if there is a strategy to do what I am after?
