How to migrate V1 COSMOS linked service to V2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • The JSON file looks like this:

        "name": "*********",

        "properties": {

            "description": "",

            "hubName": "******",

            "type": "CustomDataSource",

            "typeProperties": {

                "vcName": "vc://cosmos****/*****",

                "base64EncodedCertString": "**********"

    How can I get the right type of data and create the linked service in ADF V2?

  • I filed a ticket in Azure. But there is no solution/workaround yet.

  • You can find ADFV2 cosmos linked service spec in here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/connector-azure-cosmos-db). Not sure if this is what you need.

  • Thank you for your reply. That's not the same thing.

    The dataset JSON file I am currently using in V1 is like this:

                "type": "CosmosFile",
                "tableRootLocation": "vc://cosmosservername/******",
                "folderPath": "/local/projectname/projectdata/******/",
                "fileName": "$$Text.Format('filename_{0:yyyy}-{0:MM}-{0:dd}_filename.ss', SliceStart)",
                "streamExpiry": 180,
                "mergeTable": true

    It's not COSMOS DB. It's COSMOS files.

    The support team said it is not supported in V2. But I am pushing them to confirm this with product team.
