Why do I need to configure IIS on my computer if I have VWDE or VS2008 which are able to run my asp.net files perfectly well?

    Thanks

    hi,

VWDE is only for used devloping the project and in that some feature is not given which is give by ii like some time url rewriting is not work in vwde but it is perfect run on iis. that's why when you completed you project devlopement then you have to deploy your project on iis.

And it is helpful when you want to see your project ot client. You don't give your whole project to client for seeing the site. so That's time we want iis.

Running VWD will create a nice development environment. But using IIS would bring you a nearest Production Environment like how your site will be working in the Hosting Provider's machine.
