Facing problem while retrieving value of "WebPage " field in contacts.

    Question

  • Dear all ,

    I came across a problem as mentioned in Title line. I will describe it in brief :

    In device added one contact say first name "abc"  & added  the value in field "Web Page" as " www.abc.com ".

    Now I am retrieving this contact through my application by using OutlookSession & ContactCollection

    Code Snipet as below :

    //Assumed Only one contact in device

    OutlookSession outlookSession = new OutlookSession();
    ContactCollection objContactCollection = outlookSession.Contacts.Items;
    string strWebPage = string.empty;

    if( objContactCollection[0].WebPage != null )
    {
      strWebPage = objContactCollection[0].WebPage.ToString();
    }
    else
    {
     strWebPage = "web page not found" ;
    }

    Here I am getting " objContactCollection[0].WebPage = NULL "  &  strWebPage = "web page not found".

    Now I have modified same contact
      &  set the value of "WebPage" as " http://www.abc.com "

    Again go for retrieving this contact through my application :

    Here I am getting " objContactCollection[0].WebPage = http://www.abc.com  "  &  strWebPage = "http://www.abc.com ".

    So my query is , in contact if we add webpage with "http:// "  then it retrieve successfull & if not then we are getting NULL.

    If end user add value in webpage field without "http:// "  then HOW Can We Retrive it ???

    Can anybody help me ?

    Thanks.

  • Even though it's probably a very late response, have you tried out the InTheHand Mobile? I've been using the POOM wrappers it comes with since Pocket PC 2002 and it seemed to have always worked fine and perform very well, regardless of the Windows Mobile version you're running
