How to install powerpivot for sharepoint 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI All,

I have a sharepoint 2013 farm setup using SQL server 2012.

Currently, I have installed SQL server 2012 complete in one server and sharepoint 2013 in other 2 servers.

I want to create PowerPivot gallery site and I am not finding that option.

Am I missing something here? Where can I find PowerPivot MSI package for sharepoint 2013.

  • You need to have SSAS installed in tabular mode. You can then install the .msi from here. Scroll down the list as bit.

  • Thanks for the reply!

@Bin and Steve: SQL 2012 is already installed in native mode/ Multidomensional mode. Now when I try to install sharepoint mode, it is throwing error stating that "Sharepoint 2010 sp1 is missing and is required for installation"

  • I installed SPPowerPivot.msi in App server and it looks good.

Now, I have another issue while installing SQL 2012 in sharepoint mode. It is expecting Sharepoint2010 sp1 in db server.

  • Installing SQl server 2012 sp1 will allow you to install differenct instances of SQL in the same server.

And SPPowerPivot.msi will install and configure powerpivot for sharepoint.

    This works !
