SSIS package Password

Question

Hi there,

I thought this would be a pretty simple step - adding a password to a package.  When I open an existing package I get the password

"the package '<packagename>' is encrypted with a password. Please provide the password to be able to open the package"

 

I'd like to simulate this.  I've looked through MS documentation and CAN'T find any steps to add this, only information about what it is.

Can someone please help me...?

Under the Package Properties, Under Security Section > Set "Protection Level" to EncryptAllWithPassword, Set the "Package Password " value. that's it. Close and try opening your package, you'll get the prompt mentioned.
