Format a Cell as Text in Excel Task Pane App RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a cell that Excel keeps as General format and imposes exponential notation on a long account number.

I would like to see the long account number and not the exponential notation.

I tried setting numberFormat = "@" and the cells formatting does show Text after setting data but the exponential notation is still there.

    Here's the result:

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    John

  • Hi,

According to your description, though you are developing an Task Pane App, I find you just use the NumberFormat property to set the format of a range. If so, to show the Number "966002130001111" totally, you could set Cell format as "Number" with 0 decimal place as followed. You could also do that automatically with the code .NumberFormat = "0".
