Failed to resolve partial topology. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a media source, and decoder transform. In topoedit, if I add the source, decoder and evr, the topology will be resolved.

If I just add the source and evr, try to resolve then it will fail. Same as "render file" directly.

What might cause this issue? Thanks a lot!

  • Once it failed, it says " No suitable transform was found to encode or decode the content"

  • BTW, there is only video involved and I use my own guid for the media subtype.

  • Did you register the decoder for your subtype?

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms705640(VS.85).aspx, or take a look at the MPEG-1 Source sample.

When I registered the decoder, forgot to register the input and output types

  • Hi Mike,

After registered with the input and output types for the decoder, it works fine with the partial topology - in the case of source and evr, the decoder will be added by the topoedit and it can playback. By the way, the color of the node is kind of violet rather than green. What does that mean?

There is still another issue for "render file" - two same decoders will be added between the source and evr nodes, one violet and the other green. And it won't play back this time. What might be the reason for this error? The input/output media type issue?

    Much thanks for your help!

  • Hi Mike,

It is fixed. It was a problem with the check input/output type. Bests,
