V8 - Pushpin Click and Double Click RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I have both Click and Double Click handlers attached to my pushpins.

Click works correctly, but whenever I use Double Click it is interpreted as Click, as if Click fires first.

Can you suggest why that might be?

    Thanks

  • This is to be expected as a click event does occur before a double click since a double click is just two click events in a short period of time.

  • Thanks, that makes sense.

But this has always puzzled me.

What point is there having a Double Click Event if it will never fire because the Click Event intervenes?

Apologies, if I am missing something obvious here.

  • The double click event will fire. The single click event doesn't intervene, it fires separately.

  • Thanks but I am still unable to see how to use double click.

I want Action A to take place on a single click and Action B to take place if it is receiving a double click. i.e. I want to suppress/hide Action A if a double click occurs so that Action B ONLY occurs.

I understand that they both fire independently and have verified that.

Unless you can explain otherwise, double click seems to only be usable if single click is not used.

Maybe there is some trick that will achieve that.

    Thanks

  • Double click works fine, even when a click event is already added. You can try this out for yourself here: http://www.bing.com/api/maps/sdk/mapcontrol/isdk#pushpinAllEvents+JS
