Windows Mobile 6.5.3, Tahoma and Courier New for Japanese RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    On the Windows Mobile 6.5.3, Tahoma and Courier New Font are linked with MS UI GOTHIC.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink
    Tahoma=\windows\msgothic.ac3,MS UI GOTHIC
    Courier New=\windows\msgothic.ac3,MS UI GOTHIC

    MS UI Gothic=\windows\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma

    In order to display Japanese languages, MS UI Gothic seems to be used, since Tahoma is not Japanese Font, neither Courier New.

    My question is, although both Tahoma and Courier New are linked with the same font "MS UI GOTHIC", "glyphs" displayed in Japanese look different between Tahoma and Courier New. What type of Font is used actually?

    Thanks,

    Odnok

  •  Glyphs has significant differences due to the operating system and the font formatting. You could just compare the glyphs and you can find out what font is used.
