  • Hi,

    Here is basic checklist: (also tell us about your event receiver event).

    1. You should check if your event handler has been registered twice. If yes, then deactivate the feature and delete the duplicate receiver.

    2. You can use SharePoint Manager 2010 from codeplex to figure out how many event handlers are attached to your list. http://spm.codeplex.com/

    3. Tyr to use enable/disable event firing in your code:

    SPListItem item = properties.ListItem;
    item["Title"] = "updated_" + item["Title"].ToString();
    this.DisableEventFiring();
    item.Update();
    this.EnableEventFiring();
