Service boot operations RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello! I have a lack of documentation. I've developed service: automatic load, inside executable file."On/off transitions..." document declares that service loading process contains three operations:

    1. Container init (ContTime)

    2. Image load (LoadTime)

    3. Service init (InitTime).

My service loads in 4 seconds: ContTime = 3.5 seconds, LoadTime = 0, InitTime = 0.5 seconds. WinMain is called while Service init operation is active. If I optimize my code I'll make service init operation faster. It is fast enough. How can I make "container init" operation faster? Where can I find information about service operations? Googling give me many answers but they are missed because these words are used widely.

  • Hi,

    I'm not a developer.
But I know that you can use the WPT xperf.exe with the stackwalk function.
So may be this help you to figure out which called function is consuming the system resources with the highest load.

    Best regards
